Who we are

What we collect, and when

Only what you type into the quote form, and only when you send it. That is your name, phone number and postcode, plus your email address and a description of the job if you choose to give them — both are optional and the form works without them. It also records which page you sent it from, so we know where an enquiry came from.

If you call or email us instead, we have whatever you tell us on the phone or put in the email. There is no account to create on this site and nothing to log in to.

What we use it for

To reply to you, to quote for the work, and — if you go ahead — to carry out the job and keep the records a heating business has to keep, such as gas safety records and invoices.

The lawful basis is that you asked us to: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us. Where the law requires us to keep a record, such as a gas safety record or an invoice, the basis is our legal obligation.

We do not use it for marketing. We do not send newsletters, we do not cold-call people who asked us for a price once, and we never sell or rent contact details to anybody.

Who else sees it

• Our form provider, Peek (trypeek.dev) — the quote form posts to Peek, which passes the submission on to us. It acts on our instructions and for no other purpose.
• Google — our email address is a Gmail one, so your enquiry arrives in and sits in a Google mailbox.

That is the lot. Nobody else is given your details, and nothing goes to an advertiser, a data broker or a lead-generation company.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it: to deal with your enquiry, and afterwards for our own business records and any paperwork we are legally required to hold on to, such as gas safety records and invoices. Enquiries that never turn into a job get cleared out.

If you would rather we didn’t keep yours, say so and we’ll delete it — see below.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing on your device. We use Peek for analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without anything that identifies you personally — we can see that a page was viewed, not who viewed it. That is why there is no cookie banner in your way.

Two exceptions worth being straight about. The map on the contact page is embedded from Google Maps, and Google sets its own cookies inside that map — Google’s privacy policy covers what it does with them. And the typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when the page loads.

Your rights

Over anything we hold about you, you can ask us to:

• tell you what we have and give you a copy of it;
• correct it if it’s wrong;
• delete it;
• stop using it, or restrict what we do with it;
• hand it over in a portable form.

Email hazlemereheating@gmail.com and we’ll sort it within a month. It costs you nothing, and we won’t ask you why.

Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your data, tell us first and we’ll put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If what we do with your data changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated. There is no archive of old versions — what’s on this page is what applies.
